For the gallery opening, Sarah Kim wears a minimalist black midi dress — clean lines, bias cut, no jewellery. The art is supposed to be the loud one.
The gallery fills up, champagne is poured, and she stands next to a six-foot canvas in a dress that says nothing at all. That is the point. The room turns to look at the work, then turns back to look at her, then back at the work. Good dressing for an opening does exactly this.
